According to the WHO, it has been estimated that almost half of the adult population have had a headache at least once within the last year. Headache disorders, which are characterized by recurrent headache, are associated with pain, disability, damaged quality of life, and financial cost. Headaches are subdivided into migraines, tension-type headaches, cluster headaches and medication overuse headache. The most common type of headache, which accounts for nearly 50% of all headaches, known as tension type headaches, can easily be treated by physiotherapists. Other issues such as tempero-mandibular joint (TMJ) dysfunction which may lead to headaches, can also be treated by physiotherapists. We will be able to assess whether muscles or joints are causing you pain and then treat it accordingly.
