Helping you regain full function
Breast Cancer
Mastectomy is the medical term for the surgical removal of one or both breasts, partially or completely. A mastectomy is usually carried out to treat breast cancer. Post-operatively, the scar tissue and pain results in loss of function of arm movement. In some cases, lymph nodes might be removed which leads to painful swelling around the arms and poor circulation in the body.
Back & Neck
Whether you wake up with a painful neck or you hurt your back with a twisting motion, physiotherapy can help you. Neck and back pain can occur suddenly, like a locked facet joint or a sprained muscle, or it can build up over years, as is the case with arthritis. Our physios are highly trained to treat your back pain.
Chronic Pain
Chronic pain is often defined as any pain lasting more than 12 weeks. Whereas acute pain is a normal sensation that alerts us to possible injury, chronic pain is very different. Chronic pain persists—often for months or even longer. Chronic pain may arise from an initial injury, such as a back sprain, or there may be an ongoing cause, such as illness.
Sports Injuries
Sports injuries can happen to anyone. Young and old, big and small, fit and unfit. Whether you are training for a marathon or you enjoy occasional golf, our physiotherapists are trained to assess and treat your injury. Sports injuries are divided into acute and chronic injuries. Acute pain is a sudden onset of pain for example a muscle tear or a ligament sprain. Chronic pain is usually due to overuse of the body, for example, tennis elbow or runner’s knee.
Headaches
Headache disorders, which are characterized by recurrent headaches, are associated with pain, disability, damaged quality of life, and financial cost. Headaches are subdivided into migraines, tension-type headaches, cluster headaches and medication overuse headache. The most common type of headache, which accounts for nearly 50% of all headaches, known as tension type headaches, can easily be treated by physiotherapists. Other issues such as tempero-mandibular joint (TMJ) dysfunction which may lead to headaches, can also be treated by physiotherapists. We will be able to assess whether muscles or joints are causing you pain and then treat it accordingly.
Sports Massage
Sports massage is dedicated to improving sports performance, boosting flexibility and handling injuries or potential injuries. It is typically limited to serious athletes, such as those who train most days of the week for a professional, collegiate or high-school- level sport. These clients might use massage as a part of pre- or post-game warm-ups to reduce the likelihood of muscle cramping.

I had my breast lumpectomy 15 months ago. After the surgery I have followed the exercises which have been shown to me post surgery at the hospital. I was slowly... read more regaining more movement in my arm and some of the initial cording was gone. Recently, I noticed some swelling in my arm and discussed it with my oncologist. We agreed, that I should seek help from physiotherapist. Cheryl came highly recommended. She is an excellent physiotherapist and specializes in post - op breast cancer rehabilitation. From day one, she was kind, knowledgeable, and really took the time to understand what I was going through. She explained everything clearly and always made sure I was comfortable with the treatment plan. She used hands - on techniques and given me simple to follow stretching exercises. My cording disappeared and the swelling and discomfort of lymphoedema eased off. Cheryl is also helping me with the scar tissue and we are making huge progress. If you’re recovering from breast surgery and dealing with anything like cording or lymphoedema, I highly recommend seeing Cheryl. Her dedication, skill, and compassion are truly outstanding.
